Nazarani Tharavad (Christian Ancestral Home) is the ancestral home of the Kottukapally family located at Pala, near Kottayam, Kerala. It is a heritage property which has been built, expanded and restored in Kerala, Dutch and Spanish architectural styles over period of 250 years.

The home offers 2 comfortable double rooms with attached baths and all meals with an exotic range of cuisine. The air-conditioned suites are well fabricated with period and antique furniture, internet and an extensive library with books as old as 200 years old.

A very good holiday stay option for everyone who wants to get in touch with the roots of Kerala and its surroundings and go home rich with the traditional reminiscences and lifelong bonding.

  • Walk through the ancient Tharavad (traditional house) and observe the intricacies of the Kerala architecture. Enjoy your reading in the Reading Room of the traditional house
  • Learn traditional Kerala cookery through detailed demonstration
  • Relax in the silence of the lush green Mogul Courtyard. Watch and listen to a wide variety of birds as they frolic and chirp even at noon
  • Fish in the Pond behind the house using the traditional fishing rod - choonda
